Not-so-sunny California…

Well, we finally made it out of Vegas!  We set out for California and would you believe that not even two hours on the road we noticed it was a lot bumpier than it should have been.  We assumed it was the road because if y’all have ever been to SoCal, you know the roads are bad and there was construction on our route.  After a while of very uncomfortable bumpiness we pulled over to have a look, and hey, what do ya know…the airbag exploded. Again!!!!  For something that is never supposed to happen, it sure seemed to happen quite a bit.  Twice in one month?  These airbags are supposed to hold up to 3500 lbs EACH (obviously, the suspension has two), which is strong enough for our truck and 5th wheel.

my pool for 2 weeks 😉

California palm trees…

We made it to Walnut RV Park in Northridge, CA a few hours later.  Thank goodness!!!  It was nice to get out of the bumpy truck and get settled into what would be our new place of residence for a week or two.  We had plans to stay for a week, but had to extend our stay because another air bag was being shipped to us and since it was coming from Canada we weren’t sure how long we’d have to wait.  We received the air bag a few days after we arrived.  Our friend Jeff, in Santa Maria, had the tool Will needed to fix the problem that was causing the holes in the airbag, so Will drove the 3 hour drive to fix the truck.  I spent the day in the pool.  Oh, did I mention there was a pool?  I’m happy when I can be in the water.  I am a Pisces, after all.  heehee  Oh, the things my hubby goes through for us to have this wonderful life of ours.  What an amazing guy…am I right?!?!!!!!  Seriously, he’s pretty freaking awesome!

Oh, I forgot to mention the coolest thing about not having an airbag was that we rented a convertible. Yes, we were driving around LA in style.  We’re super cool!  So, basically, we blended in really well. 😉

We were able to see our friend Bradley and his new lady friend Allie while we were in town, which was awesome!  We hadn’t seen him in years and Allie and I hit it off beautifully and were talking like old friends from the beginning.  🙂  It was a great visit.  We had dinner and just hung out.  We talked about anything and everything.  It really is nice to catch up…and sometimes meeting new people.  😉

We also went to the Getty Art Museum.  I don’t know much about art, but it was definitely interesting and we had a great time, as always, when we’re together!  🙂 We also spent an evening in Santa Monica and the pier. <3

Ok, now the most exciting thing we did in CA was….can you guess?  I’ll give you a few guesses…

Sportin’ R2D2 ears!!! Heck yeah!
The entrance to Hogsmeade!!
He forgot his ears…

Can’t guess?  OK, I’ll tell you.  We went to Universal Studios and Disneyland. Duh!!!

I was so excited to see Harry Potter World at Universal, and OMG…it’s SPECTACULAR!  I am a big HP fan so I was as giddy as a little school girl.  Seriously, I was jumping with joy and clapping my hands.  I think I even had tears in my eyes.  Even Will was impressed!  He likes HP but hasn’t read the books. If y’all haven’t read them, you really should.  They’re awesome!

Inside Hogsmeade and Hogwarts!  I don’t want to show too much just in case y’all haven’t been and would like to go!  I highly recommend this if you’re a fan!

Mary Poppins! Practically perfect in every way!

Disneyland was pretty FANTASTIC, too!  For those of you who don’t know, Disneyland is making Star Wars Land, and Will is definitely excited about that.  At least he says he is…one can never tell with Wilson.  He’s a mystery.  😉  Oh, and I met Mary Poppins (My favorite non-animated character)!  How cool is that?  She liked my R2D2 ears.  heehee

Somebody needs to tell Wilson that Disneyland is the HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!!! Will’s favorite ride…It’s a Small World…not really (That’s stuck in your head now, right? My work here is done). 😛
The Haunted Mansion…
Don’t ask…

Now, y’all are probably wondering where we left our furbabies while we were partying. 😉   Well, we found a wonderful boarding place not too far from where we were staying.  They stayed for a night and were very well taken care of, from what we could tell.  The lady keeping them would send us pics throughout the day!

Look at these sweet faces!!!!  We were so happy to see that they were having fun!  Starla was NOT happy when we got home, either night, but she’s usually a bit grouchy if she doesn’t have someone with her 24/7.  She is a bit co-dependent…lol.

I’m honestly not sure why anyone would think Los Angeles, CA is sunny.  It’s not.  I think “smoggy” is more like it.  Just sayin’…

Check out the pics and we’ll see y’all in Yuma!!!!
