Hey y’all! Well, it’s taken me a while to get back to the blog, but I’m baaaaaaack…and now I have something more interesting to write about! We have finally begun our RV adventure. Our first (real) stop was New Braunfels, since neither of us had ever been. We stayed at Hill Country RV Resort, which was very nice, with three heated pools, hot tubs, game room, fitness area, and they even had a craft room where the guests and/or residents could keep their sewing machines and craft supplies. How cool is that? No, I didn’t use that room. As most of you know, I brought one of my machines with me on our journey. I do think having a craft room at a resort is pretty freakin’ cool, though. 😉
We visited Gruene (pronounced green, but in my head it is always “groo-een”….haha) while staying in New Braunfels. If y’all ever go to Gruene, you must eat at the Gristmill. SO yummy! The restaurant is in an old mill that was built in the mid 1800s, I think. I love history, so it was the perfect place to see on our first night there. 🙂
Gruene is definitely a place I’d recommend visiting, if you’re ever out that way.
One of the coolest spots we found was Gruene Hall. It’s a bar/dance hall where a few famous people got their start, one being George Strait!!! Lyle Lovett, Hal Ketchum, and I’m sure a few others, but who is cooler than George?! Am I right? There have been some movies filmed there, too.
On one of our days in New Braunfels we went to The Natural Bridge Caverns. That was pretty cool. We got to break in our new hiking boots, which actually didn’t need to be broken in because they’re awesome!
The highlights of this trip had to be our visits to Camping World and Wal-Mart. Yeah, we know how to par-tay!!!!
Oh, and we now know that the sidewalk does end…in Gruene, TX.
😛
Until next time…in San Antonio.
How did you know where to go when you got to the end of the sidewalk?😳
1 – Long live King George!
2 – LOVE the photo of you and Will.
3 – Glad to know where the sidewalk ends. Now…where does it BEGIN?!? Lol!
